Rune, Grey, and their companions Beltran and Verida have set off together to save their mentor Tate from the gladiator games. As their group struggles to stay together under the strain of their situation, Rune’s twin brother Ryker is falling more surely into the clutches of Zio the sorceress, who has her own plots for the future of Eon, and the Venators.
The path will be forged in sweat and blood.
With enormous thanks to The Write Reads, Devri Walls and Brown Books Publishing Group for having me on the Blog Tour for Venators: Legends Rise.
Online Blanket Fort Review
Legends Rise continues the story of Rune and Grey as they battle their way through their new life on Eon. Guided again by Verida and Beltran, they are on a mission to save their mentor Tate from the ruthless Fae who have sent him to battle in the Gladiator Games.
I was pleased with this book in that we gain more insight to Ryker, (Rune’s brother who was taken by the evil Zio) and what has been happening in his life. The first 2 books focussed mainly on Rune and Grey and it did sometimes feel that Ryker had been forgotten about. Not so in Legends Rise.
I think in order to fully enjoy Legends Rise that you must have read the first 2 books in the series. There’s so much back story between all of the characters now that it would be very difficult to work out what exactly was going on!
That said, Legends Rise is another corker from Devri Walls! I was under the impression that this was the final book in the series but there’s more to come which I am absolutely thrilled to hear.
In Legends Rise I fell a little bit more in love with the ever sarcastic Beltran and also the wonderfully snarky Rune. I adore this series and can’t quite believe it was only the beginning of 2020 when I was introduced to it!
If you’re in the mood for some fantasy get yourself into the Venators series – you will NOT regret it!
I received a complimentary e-copy of Venators Legends Rise in return for my honest and unbiased opinion. Which this is. It’s so honest that I fully intend buying the physical copies of these books so I can read them again, and again and again!
