Today we have Tessa over at Crazy for YA. Tessa has been blogging for 6 years! Her blog features “Books, Cheesy Puns and a little bit of crazy fun” and is BLOG GOALS – it’s a BEAUTIFUL blog *turns green with envy* Go say hi to Tessa over on Twitter @Crazyfor_ya
Hi! I am Tessa, a book blogger who is trying to balance her blogging life with her pursuit of a degree in English literature.
What is the name of your blog and the address?
Crazy for YA @ https://4evercrazyforya.blogspot.com/
When did you start?
I started blogging about six years ago. Don’t be too impressed though, I have been posting on and off, with liberal breaks when I am in school. Most recently, I have a streak of posting consistently for about a year.
WHY did you start?
I originally started my blog with two of my best friends. The three of us wanted to find a place to scream about our obsession for books and stories. It was a real bonding experience for us (stressful, but also great for our friendship).
For the past three years though, I have been blogging on my own and my reasons have evolved throughout my journey. There was a point in time when I blogged for the stats and the numbers, but that just led to anxiety and another blogging hiatus.
Now, I blog for the community I found and the passion I have nurtured for books. There is a great network of readers, bloggers, and authors who make up the community and I am glad to be a part of it!
What sort of posts do you feature?
My formal niche is YA books, including reviews, lists, and discussion posts about hot topics in publishing. However, I have been known to rabble about movies and TV shows too.
Ever made yourself a blanket fort?
YES! My siblings and I used to make them on our couch as “hide” until someone found us.
What 3 essentials would you have in your blanket fort?
My Kindle e-reader and my two dogs, Holly and Tink (they make great cuddle partners)
Blogging can be a very personal thing… have you told your friends and family that you have a blog?
I have told my family that I have a blog, but not my friends. I don’t really let me family read my blog either. Ever since I started blogging, I have used a pen name. I am immensely proud of what I have built in my little corner of the Internet, but the idea of sharing it with my close friends scares me a little bit.
What are your passions, what makes you happy and where’s your ‘Happy Place’?
Other than the obvious answer of reading, I also have a passion for makeup and making jewelry. My dogs make me the happiest person in the world, and I guess that my family is pretty alright too. My “Happy Place” is any library that I can find.
Last one – If you were a sweetie… what would you be?
If I were a sweetie, I would be dark chocolate. I am sweet and smooth, but I also have a little bit of bitterness and sarcasm in my personality.
