    Moments – Cara Belner

I received this book directly from the author, Cara Belner.  This is my first, ever, proper, hold-it-in-your-hands, book that I've received as a book blogger - it'll be kept forever! Luckily, it's a goodie. The story follows Kelly, a college student who feels like she's never really fitted in anywhere.  On starting her second term at college she finally feels confident in her own skin and vows to make this year the year that things change.  Unfortunately for Kelly during her first Frat Party her drink is spiked and she wakes up in a strange bed, in a strange flat with the realisation that she has been raped. It's not…

    Golden Skies – Juan Zapata

Welcome to another Digital Reads Blog Tour! Thanks so much to Shalini @ Digital Reads for allowing me to be a part of another fantastic tour! This Blog Tour features Golden Skies by Juan Zapata Online Blanket Fort Review I had initially planned only to do a promo post for this book.  However when the information came through I decided to push myself out of my comfort zone and read something that isn't from my usual genre. Golden Skies is part sci-fi, part war, part comedy and part brilliant.  Set in the middle of a religious war it is based on the story of Malik and his father Majadin.  Majadin…

Don’t Wake Up – Liz Lawler

I picked up this book second hand at a charity shop a couple of weeks ago. Having previously heard of the publisher, twenty7, I was keen to read something by one of their debut authors.  With the bold claim of “Over 400 5* reviews from real readers” stamped on the front I had high hopes for ‘Don’t Wake Up’.  I wasn’t disappointed... The story follows Dr Alex Taylor who has experienced a truly terrifying ordeal.  Alex wakes up naked, strapped to an operating table and with drips and ventilators attached to her before being knocked out again by a man dressed as a surgeon.  Waking up later fully clothed in…

The Blurb “On a drizzly August morning, the inhabitants of the hill town of Sanover, Himachal Pradesh, wake up to the shocking news of the murder of the exquisite, secretive, malicious, and thoroughly immoral Devika Singh. As Superintendent of Police Vishwanath Sharma begins to sift through the hidden secrets of Devika Singh’s life, it becomes evident that everyone who knew her seems to have a clear-cut motive for killing her. Faced with the investigation of a crime that appears to have as many suspects as there are motives, Vishwanath…

No Further Questions – Gillian McAllister

Bought on an Amazon 99p offer after I was reeled in by a series of tweets saying how good a read this was. I am a complete and utter sucker for a 99p book deal. Like crack for a book blogger… second only to FREE books… Anyway, the blurb: “The police say she’s guilty. She insists she’s innocent. She’s your sister. You loved her. You trusted her. But they say she killed your child. Who do you believe?” This is my favourite type of book. A psychological thriller with a sting in the tail. Even BETTER is that it’s written from several different points of view. This little gem lasted…
