The Things We Learn When We’re Dead – Charlie Laidlaw

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... It’s cold outside, there’s no kind of atmosphere. I’m all alone, more or less... Don’t panic. If you understand the above three references then you will LOVE ‘The Things We Learn When We’re Dead’ If you haven’t made the link between the three references above, let me help you out... The Things We Learn When We’re Dead is a book that seems to have been heavily influenced by Star Wars, Red Dwarf and The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy - this is in no way a bad thing! Let me explain... Lorna Love is dead.  Killed when she steps out…

    My Everyday Challenges

Meet inspirational lifestyle blogger Nancy! Better known as My Everyday Challenges! Who are you?  My name is Nancy (some refer to me as Sassy). What’s the name of your blog and its address? My Everyday Challenges @ Myeverydaychallenges.com When did you start?  I started July 1, 2018 WHY did you start?  I originally started my blog to showcase an online gifting boutique I had opened. Tales of the TBR

I currently have a heap of books in my To Be Read stash… some are books I’ve been lucky enough to receive from authors, some I’ve agreed to review for new and upcoming authors, some are books recommended by other bloggers and the rest are books I’ve bought for myself to read. There’s a few! Recently I was struggling with a severe reading slump. I just wasn’t enjoying it. It had become a chore. Something I felt obliged to do as a result of taking on a few books that I just wasn’t “feeling”. Happily the slump has passed! Online Blanket Fort is still a relatively new blog. Like many…

    Vox – Christina Dalcher

The United States has a new president. Women no longer read, write or work. They stay at home, tend to their children and husband - keep house. They also don’t speak. Women have been limited to 100 words a day. Exceed this and they receive an electric shock which increases for every additional word they speak. I read this book on recommendation from Emma-R. Joined library just to get book quickly. Brilliant debut from Dalcher. All women should read this book - believe the hype. Utterly terrifying - could this actually happen? Completely brilliant 5 stars. [100 word limit reached]

    Moments – Cara Belner

I received this book directly from the author, Cara Belner.  This is my first, ever, proper, hold-it-in-your-hands, book that I've received as a book blogger - it'll be kept forever! Luckily, it's a goodie. The story follows Kelly, a college student who feels like she's never really fitted in anywhere.  On starting her second term at college she finally feels confident in her own skin and vows to make this year the year that things change.  Unfortunately for Kelly during her first Frat Party her drink is spiked and she wakes up in a strange bed, in a strange flat with the realisation that she has been raped. It's not…
